Hello Back Bay Beaux, happy Friday!

They say you should never look a gift horse in the mouth, but what about a salty horse looking in your mouth? Our editor advised against us publishing the previous sentence in a serious news publication. We ignored him entirely. We are looking forward to “coastal brunch and cocktails” to Costa Mesa sometime in the near future. Exactly when is pure speculation at this point. Read on to find out what we know so far.

Salty Horse Cafe Coming to CM

Costa Mesa is set to welcome Salty Horse Café, a new coastal-themed eatery opening at 2246 Newport Blvd, Unit C. Created by Blues Restaurant Group—known for its SoCal and Las Vegas concepts—Salty Horse will serve as an all-day brunch and cocktail spot, with a tropical-inspired menu featuring items like ube chicken & waffles, pitaya pancakes, and French toast. The café plans to operate daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a pending beer and wine license. Construction is underway, and the team is currently hiring baristas and other roles. An official opening date has not yet been announced. We are still not sure what a pitaya pancake is, and are too embarrassed to ask.
