We are waiting for the other shoe to drop signaling second summer has begun but it appears fog-ust will continue with temps barely scraping 73 all weekend. Here’s to the UV index! Luke’s Lobster Lands on Balboa Island

Craving a taste of the East Coast? Luke’s Lobster is bringing its famous chilled New England–style lobster rolls to Newport Beach, opening Wednesday, August 20, at 329 Marine Ave. on Balboa Island. Founded in 2009 by third-generation lobsterman Luke Holden, the counter-service spot serves up buttered buns piled high with chilled lobster, a touch of mayo, and a drizzle of lemon butter. This marks the chain’s first Orange County location—just in time for late-summer seaside snacking. The first 100 customers will receive a free Luke’s beach towel with purchase of a 6oz lobster roll. A portion of opening week sales will also go to OC charity Serving People in Need.
