Luke's Lobster Draws a Crowd
No Shellfish allergies here...

Hello Back Bay Begonias, happy Monday.
Perhaps it was a heatwave. The dog days of summer arrived this past weekend as temps peaked just over 80 degrees for the coast, resulting in a hot and sticky conditions more common in Miami than southern California. The heating will continue until morale improves, with highs of 80 expected almost every day this week. Also congratulations to NBPD for finishing first in Cappy’s Waffle-a-thon. The real winners were the children of Make-a-Wish OC+IE.

Luke’s Lobster Makes Its Splash on Balboa

We told you it was coming, and now it’s official: Luke’s Lobster has opened its doors on Marine Avenue, serving up Maine-style lobster rolls to Newport Beach for the first time. The East Coast favorite drew a line down the block on opening day, with locals arriving by foot, golf cart, and anything else that could squeeze onto Balboa Island. The rolls—hefty, buttered, and brimming with sweet lobster—start at $30 and come with chips and a drink, with shrimp, crab, and even a seafood “flight” also on the menu. Luke’s might not be the only lobster roll in town, but the real competition right now is finding parking (and maybe a free towel if you got there early).
The Best Tiki Bars in OC

Who doesn’t like a good tiki bar? Kitschy, rummy, nostalgic and and dimly lit, these make a great spot for date nights, late night hangs and exploring truly decadent food and drinks. Our friends at The Scene OC put together a list of the best tiki bars in OC and we had to share. This will make a good addition to The Map Room. Have an idea of the best spots to visit you want us to research? Give us a buzz at [email protected].
